MAESTRO 1.3
A miracle of practical economy.

Here's the Maestro concept in lively action! Endowned with all the essential Maestro features, this high-value motoring package will surely win the hearts of every cost-conscious family.

The Maestro 1.3 offers so much for so little. Space and long-journey comfort for five people, within a handily compact exterior. Versatility, with a rear bench seat that double folds to reveal a truly cavernous loadspace. Class beating fuel economy, created by such high-tech features as an electronic engine management system. aerodynamic styling, low-weight engineering techniques and advanced low rolling-resistance tyres -- all contributing to the car's money saving 50.8 mpg at a steady 56 mph.

Practical and economical the Maestro 1.3 may be; dull it certainly is not! The flush-glazed front and rear screens are dramatically deep and wide, as are the side windows, creating an attractively low waistline which is accentuated by deep-scolloped side panels.

Inside the car, the level of luxury equipment is as surprising as it is refreshing. The heating and ventilation system, for example, is superbly efficient, having illuminated controls, a three-speed fan, face level vents for front seat occupants, side window de-misting and-welcome innovation-underfloor ducted heat to the rear compartment.

Other interior refinements include Marle fabric seat trim, a crisply styled facia with comprehensive warning lights display, single spoke steering wheel and snug fitted carpets - all carefully colour-keyed to a whole-car decor scheme.

The wide rear seat folds down in two stages to create a really useful 50 cu ft* of loadspace. There's a handy bootlight, too, and a low rear sill to make loading and unloading really easy.

On the technical front, the Maestro 1.3 is no less well equipped. Powered by a well proved and extensively developed 1275cc A+ engine, this 97mph car is fitted with electronic 'breakerless' ignition (no contact points to adjust or replace) and the full Maestro electronic engine management package, including such fuel-saving systems as an automatic electronic choke, electronic engine-idling control and an electronic fuel cut-off device that minimises fuel flow when you decelerate, restoring it the moment you press the accelerator again.

But running costs are more than a matter of fuel usage. The Maestro is engineered to require servicing only once in every 12,000 miles (or once a year). And, to reduce ownership costs still further, this miracle car comes with a 6-year Supershield corrosion warranty.
