D428 CHO was almost an impulse purchase in September 1998, some years before I got my driving license! Sitting in a garage unused for such a long time didn't help things but the car has been a reliable daily runaround for nearly a year now.
The car originates from Salisbury where it spent its first two years on a company fleet, and as a result the original spec was relatively basic. I've changed all that. I wanted to keep the car as close to factory specification as possible with more of a focus on comfort than performance which in the standard 2-litre MG setup is more than adequate for my needs. A lot of car for very little financial outlay! There are still some bodywork issues and a couple of annoying rattles to be overcome despite my already having had a fair amount of work done, and there's always the chance of mechanical work around the corner, but on the whole it's the most £200 has ever bought me.
