The International MG SHOW & Spares Day
The MG M Group will be having a club stand at the International MG Show and Spares Day.
This is a great opportunity to look through the parts and also meet up with other MG M enthusiasts. Last year I spoke to a few people about their winter restorations and had a few exciting previews of cars that attended MG saloon Day in July. These are the details:

Well I won't be going. I went last year, and appart from MGM's stand (who to their credit tried very hard - well done Matthew & Co - but weren't even allowed to sell anything) there was sweet-FA for MMM owners (or did I walk blindly past everything?).

Well I bought some Today's Cars brochures and Martin Woods found a press photo of a MG Maestro Turbo that he had been looking for for ages. One stall was selling new Lucas DX95s still in the box (albeit the yellow ones) and another had new brake master cylinders for Maestros and Montegos. Brown and Gammons usually take some MMM parts along.
There could have been more there for our cars but traders won't sell stuff for our cars if we don't go.

Its the chicken and the egg syndrome again. I can't go as I'll be in Wales for my mums birthday.
Last year I got a load of stuff for wiring my campervan and a roll of sound insulation which I proceeded to bash everyone with as I tried to walk about.

Unfortunately, it is not cost effective for the club to pay the extra to be able to sell at the show.

I'd go if it was less than 100 miles away, like it will be for most people who will go. I just can't justify the 320-mile return trip.

Hi Mat
Nice to see the club stand again. And very nice to see (I think its Pats) Monty in the hall.
The arches look much better.

Hi Jeff,
I saw your Montego Turbo in the cowshed, I mean in the reserved undercover car park for MGs. It looked very good - attached below. I took a few pictures of the MG Ms that were there.
Including the club stand, there was at least one of each of the 7 MG'M' production models there - but no 6R4!
Apparently there was a LHD MG Maestro EFi there, but I didn't spot that one.
Yes it was Patrick's black Montego 2.0i - he had the arches done last summer.

Mat
I saw the LHD Maestro. It was black and the number plate was MG 2020. Not bad eh
My car was polished on Saturday, waste of time after getting salt and grit all over it on sunday.

MG M Group Stand at Stoneleigh
I have attached some pictures from Stoneleigh 2005.
A few more of the club stand, Jeff Turbo's MG Montego Turbo and an MG Maestro EFi that looked like it might have had a T16 conversion.

MGMs at Stoneleigh 2005
A shot from the back of the club stand:
For fans of the MG Metro, these two cars were flying the flag. I have also attached a few shots of the cowshed.

Yes we made a concerted effort this year to get more cars on the stand. There were a few bits and bobs for our cars but only if you looked hard.
However, Stoneleigh is an important event for the MG M Group because we have been going for many years and it is a good chance to meet up with people in the winter. The club stand was busy all day with people enquiring about the club, the cars and picking up info about MG Saloon Day.
