Any interest in this before it gets scrapped?







Belongs to a friend of mine, it's been off the road for a few months, No tax or MOT. He's tried selling it before but been seriously messed about so this is the last chance before death in a scrap metal shredder.

It was a 1.6 but is now fitted with a perkins non turbo diesel. Runs great, the bodywork is brilliant, hardly any rust at all, never been welded.

It's had a new boot lid fitted recently, it would be a tragedy to see it die.

Apart from the odd dint it's in very good order.

That must be seriously unusual. Gotta be worth £200 notes. Why don't they MOT it?

I'm often surprised how many people try to sell cars without MOT and then are puzzled when no-one can pick it up.

This really needs to be saved. I suggested to Tim he put an advert on here, as there's a real danger it will be scrapped soon if there's no takers. We can all see how sound the bodywork on this car is. I've spent over £500 buying my Maestro and on new parts to get it back on the road and it's still nowhere near as good as this one. I think (Tim please correct me if I'm wrong!) that the owner needs it gone quickly and does not have the time or inclination to MoT it. Seriously, what's it going to need? Brake pipes, tyres, maybe a CV boot. It might even go straight through. It would be terrible to see this squashed.

I am sure it could be MOT'd easily but without tax and test it cannot be driven home so it needs to be trailered. This reduces the number of people who are likely to buy it.

Collecting the car later this week.

The engine and gearbox have already been sold, both front wings are off too.

I have arranged for this and he has a load of various montego and maestro parts that are being loaded inside.

Long term we will have to see what it needs, fingers crossed.

Well it's here, I've managed to buy it complete apart from one wing.

The boot is full to the brim of monty and maestro parts which once I have sorted what I need will be listed for sale.

Will add some pictures later as they are on my phone.

What colour do you need?

Dark brown, but if you don't have that colour any colour will do. I can paint it to match the winder handle.
