The list of what I can provisionally see I would need to put it on the road.
Lock set, including the ignition assembly
      Ignition cowling
      Steering column
      Parcel shelf
Sump as a minimum, possibly engine as it's dry. Will turn over but somethings not quiet right
Possibly passenger front door, has been pulled from the top and rain has flooded in that side
Passenger rear door has the obvious dent
      Rear number plate missing

Not the hardest list of items to find, just the engine being the biggest concern.

Will collect the vehicle on Friday.

Turns out I was bidding against someone in Hungry...

Well chuffed, had my daughter sit and watch the virtual auction for 2 & half hours waiting for it to come through.

The challenge now is to get it sorted for POL, however the vosa inspection once the cars up and running is an unknown system to me.

Will have to call and see what the waiting time is?

The VIC check is a formality to ensure it is still the car it's suppose to be.
In theory, you could get the car MOT'd if needed, and safe to drive and take it to the check "As is".

Then repair the superficial damage as and when.

                  Mal.

A couple of years ago, I bought a nice Mk3 Golf GTI that had been bumped at the front and required a VIC check under Cat C. I got the car repaired, and then MOT’d with no issues. Getting the MOT was no issue. Then I made an appointment for the VIC check at the nearest VOSA centre that did them (mine was Chelmsford). The check took less than 10 minutes (there is a fee but I can’t remember how much it was), then I was given a certificate and the car was ready to roll. A V5 then followed in the usual way.

Cheers for the info, will call Kidderminster to see if theres a backlog as I know they are struggling for even the hgv tests.

Mot man has already been warned that it needs a test plus dropping in on my body shop Friday afternoon for an idea about body work costs.

That's awesome Jeff, what's the chances he will have the old set of keys too? Cheeky I know but I don't want to force the fuel cap etc as the paint is undamaged.

If he doesn't Lee, then the club has brand new full lock sets in stock.

Don't worry about the VOSA inspection too much, when I took my Monty they only did a cursory check to make sure the chassis no matched their records. The tester was more interested in the car!
