Default Headlamps

Does anyone know if the 1987 maestro van headlamps will fit the 1986 austin maestro cityX

Almost certianly yes. As my 91 clubman came with a van front end as it had been smashed up at some point. I swapped the lamps back to the standard ones in about half an hour. 2 screws and they lift out nicely.

There are some van lamps on e bay and my reflectors are a bit dodgy so I'll buy them now

I had the same problem with mine too. Its a very common problem mostly caused by having dim/dip headlights/sidelights. If you don't manage to get the e-bay ones I have a spare set in a reasonable condition that I removed from our meastro sitting in the garage. Let me know if you get stuck

Oooops just seen those lamps on e-bay and had a thought. You need to make sure you can get the mounting plates to go with them too (I thought they were taken from an old van but it appears they are new). There are silver plastic plates the lamps fit into before they fit into the normal maestro headlamp holes (the van lights are much smaller than the car ones). They should be readily available but please check to see if the plates come with the lamps as standard.

Default headlight

Hi I have a Austin Maestro Van with small headlight and plastic around and I was thinking to change with the bigger ones,Do they fit bolt on or I have to do some modifications?
