Top speed

I also got a 190Km/h top speed and i think it could get more (on the highway). I think the engine is a Perkins. If you say it`s the equivalent of the 1.6 petrol i don`t wanna know how a 2.0 Turbo petrol is because there a re few to dare challange my Turby here.
I`ve raced against a Golf IV and in "long line" (highway) wasn`t much tougher

I got 118MPH (189KPH) out of my Montego 2.0 DLX, on a downhill, that was as fast as it would go.

I've travelled from the Severn Bridge to Bury in 2 hours, a distance of approx 180 miles with a slow bit at the end, that's an average 90mph. The speedo will sit at 105mph no trouble, and has occasionally been at 110mph (down the hills). That's probably a cruise of about 100 and mebbe 105 tops? Don't normally do this, though, only returning from the Rally Of Great Britain when I used to 'radio marshal' and that was last in 1999 but I hope to get back to it soon.

My VDP was a lot more stable at these speeds (got a front spoiler, now fitted to Monty) than Monty ever was without a spoiler.

Is that a 130mph or 150mph speedo? My 1600 has a 150mph speedo, seems a shame to only use 2/3rds of it... No-one can tell me what model it came from, but I've got pictures of a Montego Turbo with a 130mph speedo, and my VDP had the same. The 150mph speedo came as a 'four pack' of Instruments from a scrapyard for a tenner 'off the shelf'.

Anyone tell me what model it would have originally been in?

High speeds in my car are scary, so I drive gently to save fuel.

My car gets tetchy above about 75! I think that is largely down to its dire need for new tyres, as the engine is more than happy.

94 is all i've had out of the DLX (that's down hill with tail wind!). Had to slow down 'cos my ears started to bleed!

When i had my 2.0 Dslx saloon i managed 118mph as verfied by the West Mercia Police force!! (there speedo's tend to be quite accurate as well!) I think partial disbelief that a Diesel Montego could travel that fast and an accident further down the M5 got me off the hook with nothing more than a severe ear bending. Needless to say i have slowed down since then

You can run but u cannot hide!

Over 150Km/h the sound of agony that Maestros release is the reason that u cannot pass without be remarked so if u unfortunately get pass a stationary police patrol u easily make them your "tail" and the show is ready to start.

By the way IF they start chasing you they cannot see you because of the smoke cover

So Maestros should be introduced in Need For Speed 6 or whichever the latest NFS exists.
