Default Philips R861 Cassette Player Keycode

Hello All,

I have a Philips R861 cassette player which i wish to install in my Maestro, but have not instructions with it. I have the keycode number which is 7901 but the number keys on the stereo are 1 to 5, can anyone tell me how i enter a number higher than 5 or enter the number 0. Any help anyone could give me would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Martin

Hello acerocks!
most coded stereos follow the same sort of code imput, try this
1.switch on,code symbol appears,press pre set button 1

2.press one of the tuning buttons < > to enter 1st digit of code.

3.press pre set button 1 to store 1st digit

4. follow steps 2-3 to enter rest of code

5.when all 4 digits have been stored you should hear a two tone beep to let you know the code has been entered correctly.

hope this helps!!!!

Isn't it the Philips R681 not 861? B.t.w I am still looking for a Philips R570 or R670, anyone got one on offer?

Phillips R681

It is a Phillips R681. This model was fitted to the MG Maestro Turbo, MG Montego 2.0i and MG Montego Turbo and some Rover 800s between 1989 and 1991 (ish)

Click the image to open in full size.

Malcolm's instructions also apply to the R570 (fitted to 1.3 and 1.6 Maestros and Montegos) and R670 (MG Maestro 2.0i) There is also a Phillips R361 that has manual tuniing and was fitted to low spec models and Minis This doesn't have a code.

You can de-activate the code by:

1. Press up tuning button ^ whilst turning on stereo
2. Enter code
