  • Autopia service centres

We had this sent to the club e-mail account - sounds like an interesting opportunity:

    Dear Classic Car enthusiast,

As a fellow enthusiast, I thought you might be interested in the following information about the first DIY/Self Service vehicle workshop in the North-West.

We could market our Service Centre as having the lowest mechanics rates because customers do the work themselves, but in reality our customers are more likely the classic car enthusiasts who love to tinker which we think will appeal to your members, particularly those in the North-West region.

    Autopia Service Centres

Believed to be the North-West's first DIY Workshop, Autopia Service Centres offers four workshop bays for vehicle owners to rent by the hour, two have car lifts - a two-post and a four-post, and all bays have tools for rent, lifts start at £10 per hour plus VAT.

More information can be found at http://www.autopiaservicecentres.co.uk or by calling us on 01254 433397.

If you'd consider forwarding this to your distribution list, or including it on a forthcoming news item, we would be very happy to offer your members a 10% discount on their total bill when they present their current membership card.

We are open 7 days per week and located 5 minutes from Junction 4 on the M65, 9 miles north of Bolton, 14 miles east of Preston and 14 miles west of Burnley.

We'd also be very happy to host a club run out if your regional members are interested and will arrange bacon sandwiches and tea/coffee, please give us at least a week's notice to arrange?

Anybody wishing to come and view the facilities in the meantime are also welcome

    Best regards, Darren Jones

    And a follow-up message:

    Dear Classic Car enthusiast,

Further to our successful opening in January, I thought you might also be interested in advising your members about a brand new service we're just launching specifically for clubs, it's called Autopia 'Club Days' and gives clubs a full day's exclusive workshop access to all the bays and ramps, they can bring as many cars as they wish and marshall/shuttle them in and out as required to do the necessary jobs, it allows club members to share the jobs, expertise and information, it also provides a really cost effective way of getting workshop time, e.g. 12 hours, Monday to Friday is just £200 plus VAT - we've already had a number of queries from clubs about organising technical days.

More information can be seen in the attached and at; http://www.autopiaservicecentres.co....d=83&Itemid=81

    Very best regards,
    Darren

Yes I heard it too, fantastic opportunity for anyone within reasonable traveling distance of the workshop. Heard about it on Smooth Radio last week. We just need them to spread around a bit more.

          More from Autopia:

Are you or is your car club participating in the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs' 'Drive-it Day' this year?

On 25th April many Classic Car Clubs and individual Classic Owners across the UK will be showing support for the UK's hstoric vehicle population by dusting off their classic cars, vans, bikes & trucks and getting them on the road to demonstrate the strength of the movement, showcasing our classic car hobby to other enthusiast owners and to people who don't currently own a classic.

The 'Drive-it Day' commemorates 64 cars that set off from London in April 1900 on the first Thousand Mile Trial and will show the significant number of classics currently registered in the UK with many organised events taking place up and down the country, many museums and other sites of classic vehicle interest are opening or putting on some special events.

Autopia Service Centres is proud to support this annual event by welcoming classic car owners to use us as a stop-off point, we will be offering free BBQ food, hot and cold drinks - for visiting drivers and passengers of classic cars that are participating in the initiative either individually or as part of a club. (club secretaries, would you be kind enough to forward this message to your members?)

If you're planning your route and would like to stop-off at Autopia for some refreshments, our address is Unit 29, Darwen Enterprise Centre, Railway Rd, Darwen. BB3 3EH - 5 minutes from Junction 4 of the M65 in Lancashire.

The BBQ will run from 10am to 4pm and we will be serving; bacon rolls, sausage barmcakes, beef burgers, onions, baked potatoes, tea, coffee and soft drinks.

We need to confirm how many visitors to cater for so if you'd like to call in at Autopia along your trip please call 01254 433397 or email us through our website at http://www.autopiaservicecentres.co....rate&Itemid=62 with details of visiting cars, driver, number of people and approximate times of arrival?

We anticipate a significant take up on this offer and are budgeting for a maximum of 250 visitors across the day so please dont hesitate registering your interest.

I look forward to welcoming you to Autopia Service Centres - the North-West's first DIY/Self Service vehicle workshop.

          best regards,

          Darren

            Autopia is not trading.

On 18-03-12 the site is dead.

            Whois search says:
The registrant is a non-trading individual who has opted to have their
address omitted from the WHOIS service.
