Hi all,
A thought hit me suddenly the other day as I was reading an article on the "austin rover tribute page", (the one run by Keith Adams), and it was one of the ex-staff saying about how they fitted a warmed up cam to the standard R series as well as the twin carbs to produce the MG. Is this true? No one else has ever said anything about the cam being different, well not that I've seen anyway! The only reason this worries me is that I junked the MG's cam with the rest of the engine as I had mixed all the buckets up taking the carrier off when the head went to be skimmed, so the MG now has an HLS cam
I'm sure someone must have an old datasheet or similar (where is my Haynes manual??) which would shed some light on it, but it didn't appear to be any difference performance wise, still the same old mid range grunt which i'm not used to (I drive a Peugeot 309 1.3 you know! Mid-range grunt wasn't on the options list! )
Sorry if this post makes little sense, but i'm quite tired now!! Is there anything else different that I should know about??
Thanks for your help in advance!
Ricky.
