Oh? Well, no I'm not really that sure Simon. I've not had chance to clean the car yet and its quite dirty. For some reason I thought it looked green and kinda assumed that as the car was green then it was logical the tint might be.
The screen definitely doesn't look clear either.
One thing I am where my cars are concerned is an 'originality' freak. So what ever it should be, it will be! Just need to work oug what that is hahaha...

Total bargain Jeff. I'll be needing two myself at some point soon. Although I have a huge trip to Rimmers planned. Will have to hire a van!

I will be getting what I can for the Countryman restoration which will be starting soon. I've made contact with my bodyshop and hope to have the car in end of March/April time.

Essential items needed (which Rimmers have in stock) are:

            1 - Bonnet
2 - Passenger Side Front Door
3 - Bronze Tinted Windscreen with Bronze top tint (existing screen is coming out and is cracked)

I already have a new rear drivers side door which Tanya kindly collected for me. The other two doors I am currently in negotiation with another establishment (not Rimmers).

There are other panels I plan to get from Rimmers for a "yet to be announced" project.

Sorry to drag up an old thread...according to Autoglass, they can no longer supply bronze tinted windscreens for Maestros, only clear ones. I've tried, tried and tried again but they remain resolutely firm - clear windscreen only!

My screen has gone and Autoglass is my insurance's glass repairer.

However, if I go through a different firm eg National Windscreens then the excess is 15 quid more so there's hope.

                          Just so you know...

Yes, National Windscreens made one for me - which is why they can get you a tinted one. It cost about £100.

Autoglass are probably just using old stock.

That's good to know, because I just phoned my insurer, Peter S Taylor, who are absolutely superb, by the way...) and it is the same excess apparently whether I go through Autoglass or National Windscreens, so game on!

I'm aware that it may take several weeks to be made, but the location of the crack means that it doesn't interfere with driving.
