  • Montego turbo

Started working on restoring my Monty turbo this week, stripped the interior out as it was in a disgusting state, full of mould, stains and oil..so..I stripped all the trim off the seat frames and stuck them in the washing machine! Hey presto! It come out really clean.the rear seat back has been cut where the arm comes down to access the boot I would assume so off to the scrapyard this weekend to get the back seats to replace, then I can rebuild the interior.Upon stripping all the trim and carpets out the shell of the car is brilliant condition,no rot anywhere none on the inner sills or the a posts,I'm really pleased with it's condition.
Roof lining next, thanks to Jeff's post on how to repair it,I'll give it a bash.

    Stuart.

Where are you going to find one in a scrapyard just out of interest or do you mean the one on ebay in Altringham?

I tried 2 breakers yards for a couple of bits but are a waste of time lol.

I want a passenger side inner door rubber seal in Flint Grey. I also want the plastic roof gutter trims with those little metal joiners too & whilst at it the long plastic strip trims at top + bottom of rear window.

The interior in this one is the biscuit colour I think they call it,the gutter trims have gone as I had them.Which plastic trims do you mean? If they are on it I could get them for you.

            Regards stuart.

Thanks tony but it's the metal backing in the back seats that I'm getting as the previous owner cut a hole where the arm rest comes down,I wouldn't want to break up a good interior for just that.but thanks for the offer.are you the chap selling the black efi?

              Regards stuart.

The long strip at the top & bottom (Outside) of the rear window. They are the strips that fit into/under the rear 1/4 windows.
The car that was in that yard he did say the door rubber I was looking for was there & all good as was the one on the front drivers door too but they failed to ever get back to me lol.

Thank you very much. When I did speak to him he reckoned £10 per trim.
