I may have a new Monty bonnet to collect for my Countryman. It's only just occurred to me that it may or may not be possible to collect it in the Golf. Does any one have experience of collecting such a large panel in a medium size hatchback? I guess I could unbolt the old one and try it out but I'd rather not!

Not that it helps you, but a Montego bonnet is the same size as the load area of an Allegro Estate (which is what I last used to collect one). -

It's ironic that it'll fit in the Countryman but it's not yet on the road.

I did feel a bit silly unbolting the existing bonnet, getting it in to the car, only to take it out again but it was worth it for peace of mind.1985 Austin Montego 2.0HLS x 2
