Presumably there will be a few spare entrance tickets for those willing to help out on the stand?

I'll bring JOE on the Friday if you'd like it on the stand. Prolly can't do Sat or Sun

The car would need to be delivered on the Thursday... and then not leave until Sunday evening... we can't take any exhibition cars in or out of the arena during the show.

Shame :( I hadn't seen any mention of asking for help manning the club stand and I mentioned above as I thought if Stephen is coming down from Scotland for the weekend he might have been able to help out on the stand in return for free entry.

Just got back from putting the stand together.

Who knew that you could spend 4 hours polishing a Maestro?!

Anyway if you're in the area of the NEC with nothing to do in the next three days then it'd be more than worth a visit!

Another Tickford Maestro hiding on the Tickford stand for sale with rather an optomistic price tag!

Wow they all look spotless. Wish I came just to see the maestros. Go on them how much was the black turbo up for?

Its actually a british racing green one but its not obvious in that pic.

Think of a good figure then double it :D

Andy
17th November 2008, 00:26
Well I am taking it that the condition is extremely good I would say a reasonable price would be 2.3-2.5k so if I doubled that it would be very optimistic.

Dave

It was £7k.

Exterior was mint, but for that money I'd have expected the interior to have been completely re-upholstered.

Obviously doesn’t want to sell it, be one of these people that has it up for sale on the off change that some ones silly enough to buy it. Could have the pleasure of restoring your own for that.

When I saw it the price was £6k so perhaps he actually did want to sell it??

Very good condition, no visable rot, but not mint condition if you know what I mean. Anyhow, if we ignore the pricing its pleasing to see maestros making a regular appearance at the show and not just on this clubs stand!

Just put my pics online here. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/maisiehexagon/sets/72157609248656090/)

It was very nice to see such a generally positive reaction to the cars and the stand, and to see Maestros popping up on different stands!

My jaw dropped when I saw that Red MG. Nice to see several 'minters' on show, although there's no metal bumper model there for variation. Or a Montego!

Theres a Mint Red Maestro near me that looks like that but its a J plate iirc.

I think next year is all for the Montego because its the birthday of it. If the classic car show is on next year about the same time or a little later, i would be happy to put KGM on, hopefully il be driving by then anyway, so i can come down myself.

This year was the Maestro's Silver Jubilee so we had three of them on the stand - next year is the Montego's for the same reason!

We will be looking for three (or maybe four) Montegos of varying specification.

We are also intending to exhibit some of the lower-spec cars in the future because there was a very healthy interest in these models, lots of comments from people who had something like a 1.3L or HLE as a first car.

I was very heartened at the response the Maestros got from the passing visitors and I even convinsed an interested passer-by to take a look at our classified advertisments with the view of buying an MG Maestro.

Cheers Steve,
Not bad considering its used everyday and not garaged is it? I was suprised at how many people stopped and looked at it while i was there on Sunday, I had never shown it before but was glad i did :)

Yep its a very clean and tidy car, in a very nice unfaded colour. Mine was the white turbo but I was busy on the 200/400 stand for most of the show.
