I discovered yesterday that i have one hullava leak in my Maestro!!
There is about an inch of bloody water in the passenger side rear footwell, and the front is reasonably wet! :o
Drivers side front and rear is dry..
I can't see where it's getting in:banghead:
Any common spots of entry?, where should i be checking?
Oli.

Could be sunroof drain pipes blocked/split, I think there's four with two at the front and two at the back at each corner of the tray. Before you start tearing things apart, dry up the water and then cover and tape up the sunroof to stop any water getting into the tray just to see if the interior stays dry, if it does it's obviously the sunroof. If not start looking at doors seals etc.

Also may be the drains for the grille under the front windscreen. You need to lift the bonnet and take out the clips to remove the long plastic panel below the windscreen - sometimes the drains get blocked or part of the bulkhead rusts away to leave a hole where the rainwater gets in to the footwell.

Could be the heater matrix or heater matrix pipes. Check to see if the coolant has gone down in the coolant expansion bottle. Or alternatively top it up and run the engine take a look under the dashboard see if you can see where its coming from. Good luck!

Sadly with Maestros it can be a lot of reasons...
Has the car been parked at an angle? If the front was facing downhill forget the sunroof, but it may have been leaking into the boot and run to the footwells from there. Rust around the window in the hatch will lead to serious leaks into the boot.
Another possible reason would be rusted through roof seems under the black rubber inserts.
Rust around the front windscreen can - as with the back - lead to bits of the bonding getting undone and end with leaks around the screen. Sadly this rust is often invisible with the screen in place.
Oh, and I have also found door seals to leak badly enough to fill a footwell.

Alexander
