Hi all, I've inherited my dad's car and was going to sell it but.....it's SUCH a nice thing to drive that I've decided to keep and restore it (although it passed the MOT ok) as a hobby for my 10-year-old son and I. On a whim, I've bought a new power steering pump and a recon power steering rack on eBay, because my dad always wanted power steering and because my wife might drive it if it is fitted. Does anyone have any advice and or parts which would help me to finish the job? As far as parts go, I'll be needing the pump mounting bracket for the Perkins Prima engine, pulley, drive belt, hoses and probably several other things which I can't even imagine (I'm mechanically minded, but spent the last 30 years on motorbikes......)

Thanks in advance, and hopefully we'll meet some of you on the Derbyshire outing!

All the best

Karl

My idea would be:

The resevoir, pipework, mouting points and a new fanbelt to run it.

Obvioiusly, some more would be required, but these things are essential I'd say.

Plastic water shield for where the rack enters the car footwell (its different to the non PAS one. Tensioner bracket that is bolted to the block. Pump, belt covers, belt, pipework including PAS cooler, steering rack and thats about it really.
