mine seem pretty tight and won't budge...who was the bright spark who decided to use these bloody things..why not a simple nut and bolt?

Anyone got some magical way of loosening these critters? Got a feeling they will snap

last time i did it i use a short tube slid over the top of the allan key, - copper tube.
and brute force,(watch your fingers)

Indeed, don't just crack it off. Douse it in WD:40 and get a bar over your socket as Tony says. If it won't just turn with fair pressure, give it a very slight but sudden tap.

Hi Seem to remember th efron allen bolt has a nut on it hear the exhaust with a split washer on it I think. Try removing the nut first on that one, the other two I seem to remember pick up a thread in the gearbox. As recommended a long tube ove the allen key will do the trick

Would have thought that a length of hexagonal bar in a socket would be strongest, avoiding the weak spot of the bend in the allen key? (cut a piece of allen key making sure it is just long enough to go all the way in to the bolt and socket)

3/8 Allen socket and 3/8 breaker bar. Make sure you tap the socket into the bolt first or it will round

seemed to have cured the starter motor problem for the time being...kept turning the engine with the fuel supply off for around 3 mins none stop...now it starts up fine
