I replaced the fuel pump a number of months ago now, and ever since I have had an oil leak from behind the fuel pump. It's really annoying, not to mention making a mess on the driveway and road outside the house.
There's an extra piece on the fixings on my car where a support for the air pump mounts behind the spacer behind the fuel pump.
The layout is thus:
Fuel pump - gasket - spacer - gasket - metal plate for air pump - engine block.
There was never a gasket between the air pump mount and the block, and as far as I can tell this is where the leak is coming from.
Should I cut a gasket from gasket paper, or can I get away with using that gasket in a tube stuff? It's most annoying i'll have to take it off again as access is very poor due to the air injection stuff. :(
