Hi All,
New to this forum. Just bought MG Maestro Turbo No. 172. Needs some work doing to it, but it ain't all bad?
First thing i need to do is get the crank pulley replaced. Are new ones available?, or where can i get a reconditioned one from? Does a pulley from another model fit?

Any help apreciated.

Jamie

There no new crank pulleys left, NLA from MGRover, and i believe i had the last one from a large Evans Halshaw rover parts warehouse.:hide:

A t series or m series one would fit, though you would need to set the timing mark in the right place

there's 2 sorts depending on engine prefix - what's your engine # or can you post a pic of the one you want? - I have 1 spare...

hi David,
i can't make the engine number out, but it has been aparantly replaced with a Gold Seal engine, so not the original one?

I've sent a picture to your email address.

Hope you can help?

many thanks

got pic thanks but insufficient detail. My spare is part # UAM 2468 - it's on the casting at the edge - what part # is yours (and what's wrong with it , it looks OK in the pic)

hi David,
mines got the same code on it.
We thought the rubber could be perished as the outside pulley(belt to altanator) doesn't spin flush. It wobbles i bit, as if its not mounted correctly. The inside pulley (timing belt?) spins perfect.
This is causing a speaking noise on tick over, plus i don't want to put any extra pressure on any bearings anywhere.
Does this make sense to you?

cheers
