Van wheels

hi all,
i just bought a spare wheel with good tyre unseen through ebay for my 500 petrol van.
when it arrived i found it was a 14 inch wheel & tyre & my van is fitted with 13 inch rims.I know the van it was off as a 2.0 diesel.Did these have bigger rims then? or has someone upgraded them at sometime.

can anyone enlighten me:idea:

Early vans had 13 inch wheels like my old van.
Late vans all had 14 inch wheels.

Both fit fine if the tyre profiles are correct.

thanks for that.think i'll keep an eye out for another 14 inch rim/tyre then.could have 14's on back & 13 on fron for now.:)

Only if you have a spare one of each in case of puncture.
(legally speaking).

So long as the rolling radius is the same you can mix and match 13 and 14 inch wheels. It isn't good practice but perfectly legal.

Sadly I just gave 5 13's with good tyres on away to someone a few weeks ago. I'll have some 14's available at some point but not for a little while yet
