The rubber fuel hose that runs from the fuel pump into the carb in my Maestro is showing signs of cracking.
The fuel hose is 5mm internal diameter.
Does it matter if I replace it with a 6mm diameter fuel hose?
TIA

As long as it can be fitted tight enough for it not to leak, no.

Your local unipart branch should be able to supply you with 4.8mm fuel hose or 5.6mm hose, but 6mm hose should be ok as long as it doesnt leak or move about when the clip is tight

It's worth making the effort to get the correct size - I tried a slightly larger one and couldn't tighten it enough to prevent it leaking.

Took the 6mm one back to the shop last night and exchanged it for a 5mm hose which is the same as the one on the car.
That should avoid any leakage issues.
I have enough leakage of engine oil from the head gasket already!
