A lovely slate blew off a roof and did a nice job of smashing my windscreen on my D reg EFi. I'm TPF&T and had to pay the lot.

After reading about (can'T remember who started it - sorry!) problems people on here have had - I called RAC auto windscreens. They ordered a bronze tint windscreen no problem, fitted it and relieved my wallet of £94.

He managed to use the existing seal, I asked the bloke (remebering previous thread) if fitting the seal was a pain, he said it was but it only took him 2 mins if that!!!

One word of caution - If your seal is damaged insist they supply a new one before they come out otherwise the crappy universal one goes on!

Glad it was so painless (apart from the cost!)

I, too, have had a good experience with RAC AW. They repaired a chip in my windscreen free of charge on Tuesday and have agreed to replace the screen on the car I'm given to a mate for Christmas. As you say there was no problem in obtaining the bronze/bronze top tint screen, even though the person on the phone when I called told me that they were NLA. The glass fitter who was ver professional knew exactly where to get hold of them.

RAC Auto Windscreens have done me proud twice, once with a bronze-top-tint screen and once with a rear 3/4 window. Very good, quick service and just paid the £60 excess each time.

With the bronze-top-tint screen, I rang Green Flag at 4.30pm on a friday and the screen was fitted by 11.30am on the saturday, new trim as well.:)

My experience with the RAC was good except he left a little sealent on the dash and my newly fitted leather passanger seat, came off with a little solvent.
