Rustproofing

Hello All -

Had a turbo diesel Montego estate years ago, and watched it fall apart just as the engine was getting into it's prime.

Now need another cheap-ish estate, and quite fancy another Monty.

Has anyone had any experience of rustproofing, either DIY or professional?

Wax inject (waxoyl) all the box sections. Pull the carpets up, paint and waxoyl the surface of the footwells.

On the underneath DO NOT use underseal - it will promote/hide rust. Poke around with a screwdriver, brush off/weld etc any rust and my personal preference is to paint with hammerite then stonechip shield.
