No, the Maestro saloon tow bar has to slope upwards to follow the line of the rear bumper. The Maestro van has a flat floor.

Yes the top one is a van. However the rear cross piece is a lot longer than my one, and there doesn't seem to be a reinforcing plate behind it. Also on the front to back bar, there is usually another set of bolts nearer the rear of the van. I.e. there are two at the front of the towbar, two at the top where it drops down and then 4 across the back cross member. Well at least that is how it is on mine.

It just bolts on, four holes in the spare wheel well and two in the back panel. Plastic-bumpered cars need to have a slot cut in the bumper for the bracket to pass through.

...and if you have a plastic bumper Maestro...there's even a handy template to follow marked on the inside of the bumper so you can cut your hole just in the right place!

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. Is the towbar for a metal-bumpered saloon different from that for one with a plastic bumper? I have the former car and the latter towbar.
If they are different, has anybody got a metal-type towbar for sale or swap?
:(

There maybe bumper specific ones but the plastic bumper one I have would fit a metal bumper one with no mods.

The towbar for the Maestro saloon is the same regardless of it being on a car with plastic bumpers, or metal bumpers.

I'm pretty sure they are different, or at least some of them are different. I don't think you could fit the one I've got to a plastic bumpered car without removing a lot of the bumper.

Thanks chaps. That looks hopeful. I was wondering what to do on a long hot summer's day. Now I know - fit a towbar!
