Would Monty Turbo (petrol) drive shafts fit in a EFi MG Maestro?
Similarly, would Maesty/Monty Diesel (Turbo? any difference?) drive shafts fit?
I'm guessing they'll fit just fine... but don't want to fork out and find they don't go in!

Early ones are different to later ones.

they are all PG1 gearboxes so the inner ends are all the same. The outers changed with the revised hub and wheel bearings, don't have access to Change Point info at the mo but IIRC it was around 86 or '87.

The inner CV joints are all the same for monty/maestro. The later rovers use a slightly different inner joint but they'll still fit maestro/montego. In short so long as they are for the single piece bearings then the driveshafts will fit from and PG1 monty/maestro.

Thanks Dan. I've got worn boots on all 4 CV's, bad wear in the off side outer CV, slight wear in the near side outer... All things considered, new shafts to be fitted. I've got a new set for MG Monty Turbo (Petrol) - I think they should be ideal for my M16 setup.

They should all fit as long as they are for the single type bearings. Turbo diesel and turbo petrol shafts are of a larger diameter, so you cannot just fit EFi CV joints to a Turbo shaft.
