If you were looking for some smart alloys to modify your maestro with you can't go far wrong with these. Wonder if they're still available?I think the DTM alloys look especially excellent.(from Motobuild, Hounslow, Middlesex):-

I like the Tritech personally..even though I've seen VERY similar on Fiestas..
Mind you...for originality I like X spoke alloys. I think H870 would be well suited to a set of the white X spokes as fitted to the "Advantage" models..:)

Fitting tritechs would be pretty cool...never seen a maestro with 3 spoke alloys before! I have decided to keep my X spokes as well due to cost and the fact that they suit the car well/look great....wouldn't mind making them a two tone gold/silver though!

I saw a Mini over the weekend, flame red with alloy wheels which had silver edges and gold centres - it looked really good.
If you're lucky enough to own a Maestro van, of course, you have a more standard PCD anyway and have a vast choice of alloys

3 Spokes? Get outta here, they are soo mid-90's and nothing would look worse on a Maestro! Stick with cross-spokes or anything from the MGf.
Gareth
does mgf stuff fit the maestro and/or montego?

Is the PCD on Vans different to cars? I thought the studs were different (thicker on vans ) and the centre hub hole was bigger to allow the larger hub/drive flanges.
What popular alloys fit the Van PCD then?

This red turbo is fitted with the very popular VVC alloys. All MGF alloys fit Maestros and Montegos including the wheels from 2000 model year MGFs

And finally there are loads of wheel sthat fit the Maestro and Montego that are not MG Rover sourced. I think these are made by a company called "Dare"

The MGF alloys sure do fit :)
I have a set of the 16" square spoke 2000 wheels on my maestro and they do improve the appearance of the car, although it is now crying out to be lowered!
The one problem with the 16" alloys is that they require spacers at the front, making the wheels protrued from the front arches a little.

MGF wheels sure look good on the Maestro. The 15" ones fit straight on I believe.
Let's see a picture of your Maestro with 2000MY wheels! Is it an MG?

sorry its not an MG.
It started out as a 1.3 Clubman. I have done the inside with e/w all round e/mirrors and c/door locking i have got a MGF rear view mirror with map reading light and a Ford Granada light in the rear again with a pair of eye ball lights. The outside is going to get the treatment this year with a full turbo kit and next year maybe a T16 conversion!!!
There are a couple of pictures from last years MGM on that web-page(it has a cut out MG front grill and its flame red)

I think (if I remember rightly) the van has a PCD of 100. I have Smiths wheels on mine, but there are plenty of others to choose from.

K260 EWF:-
Please post some pics of your interior if possible. How did you install the rear electric windows? Did you have the 6 Montego style blanking plates where the windows switches go around the gearstick lever gaiter (like my car) before installation?

The alloys on that above aren't the same as these:

All I know is that these are also MGF 16ins, but what MGF were they from? I want a set badly!

The electric windows in my car are from an earlier style car all the switches are in the doors themselves then in the driver’s door there are four switches to control all the other windows.
I have made this up from a number of different styles of electric windows fitted to both the Maestro and Montego over the years.
I will have to go and take some photos of the interior (I may post these either today or tomorrow) or you can have a good butchers at MGM!!

Great stuff! As I am getting the older style switches/wiring/regulators myself because these are the only ones I can find I was thinking of putting the window switch blanking plates into some other use: e.g. use switch locations for Map lights i.e. four switches, one for each side of front and rear.

Well i've had two sets of MGF wheels on my car, the 15 inch VVC alloys and the 16 inch Abingdon style.

Here's a rough idea of what the alloys from Motobuild would look like:-

The black car has wheels from an early MGF (1995-1999) These are now much easier to get hold of and much cheaper than the 2000MY wheels on the red E-rag car that you posted up.
I have seen early MGF wheels with tyres being sold for as little as £200 (They cost about £600 new without tyres):)

Fancy a new set of alloys for your Metro, Maestro or Montego but want to keep the car original?
Well for just £25 per wheel you could buy any of the following still in the boxes and never been on a car:
NAM 6609 MG Metro 5.5Jx315 silver
NAM 6609 MG Metro 5.5Jx315 white
NAM 3330 MG Maestro cheesegraters silver - also fit Montego
Also
RRC 10386 MMP Rover 200/400 5.5Jx14" (silver)
E-mail me on matthewsemple@hotmail.com for further details

As vans have 100mm pcd, would modern MG Rover 25/45 wheels fit or am I wrong again?? I know MG Maestro/Montego cross spokes (15") will fit TR7's, so for a retro kind of look (as they say) you might be able to fit 14" Minilites for TR7's to our cars, shod with 185/60HR-14 tyres. Just a thought?!...

I forgot to ask, would the new ZR/ZS alloys fir on a Maestro? I guess a bit of arch work would be needed, but it would look nuts!
MGTurbo
12th June 2003, 17:04
No, they are 4x 100mm PCD. All Maestro and Monty's except Van are 4x 95.8mm PCD.
