View Full Version : Who's got to work over Christmas?

Sadly, in front of this computer is pretty much how I'll spending every day until Christmas eve afternoon, when, if I'm lucky the finance guys will go home and I can do the same.

I was wondering who else has got to work the festive period...? Of course I guess it means that if there are lots of us working then at least there will be a lot of posting on the fourms!

Yep, working Xmas Eve and New Year's Eve :(

Mainly my own fault - I'm too used to working in educational establishments where you automatically get the holiday period off, and by the time I realised I'd need to book the holiday, just about everyone else had got there first.

I was supposed to be on leave all this week, but almost predictably on the railway one thing led to another and here I am going in to work today and tomorrow to sort out an almighty great big mess :(

Thereafter, however, every remaining day in 2003 except New Years Eve (which I'll be working) is either a bank holiday or a day on which I'm entitled leave, so that *will* be that.

Anyone have to work Christmas Day? I suppose you could argue there's little to miss and the time off is best saved for the summer months :)

Well, I've just been told to go home so that's where I'm going. Actually it's not because MaestroMatt and I are off down the pub!

Have a great time everyone!

And a very nice pint it was too. Just to brag, I finished on the 18th and am not back until the 5th. Ah the joy of working in the public sector...

Merry Christmas everyone!
