I am restoring my Turbo and want to replace the dampers and springs allround with standard type items (due to cost at the moment). Unipart have told me there are 4 types, 2 oil and 2 gas. Now i know the Mg turbos had gas dampers as standard, so that is not an isuse. but which height should i get, or does it not really matter as i am changing the full set.
I can only find out the height of the springs which should be 393mm off the car, as per the rover manual.
Has anone else brought new suspension and are able to advise me.

Original fitment shocks were gas front and oil rear, but many go for gas all round.
Some time after the new year I will have a set of good used standard springs available froma monty turbo.

You will find the Unipart Shocks quite expensive, I would go for KYB shocks, they will be the cheapest gas ones you will find and they are excellent quality, also I wouldnt go for std springs as the cars look like a 4x4 .. You will get a good set of Avo lowered springs with about a 1" drop for less than some std springs. This setup will cost you less than a std setup from Unipart etc ..
Give Terry a call at JRT 01494 792211, he will have the correct part numbers etc and be able to give you a price .. Say Sean Norwood recommended you.. I have had a few sets off him.
Another place to try is http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/ ... They do both Avo Springs and KYB Shocks
341106 Rears
333075 Fronts
These are the numbers for the shocks I think
A V -82-002
Avo Spring part number ..

Another recommendation for Terry at JRT from me too (and the Rover 200 & 400 owners club).
