Hi can anybody tell me where to find the crankshaft timing mark on a perkins prima 50hp engine?? I was told it was on the gearbox adaptor plate but i cant find it can anybody help please desperate :banghead: :banghead:

its not a mark its a small hole that u can put a small 6.75mm drill bit in to to hold it if u have power steering the hole is just underneath teh pump from memory help me out here guys if i am wrong. i havent done diesel monty headgasket in ages or a cam belt come to think of it..

Perkins didn't do a 50hp engine for cars so I'm guessing this is a boat engine.
It is is a perkins prima then the above advice is correct but the orientation might be a bit confusing in a boat. The timing pin holes are facing away from the injection pump slighly lower down on the opposite end to the cam belt.
