OK heres another one :)

You are on an island in the middle of a lake. The lake is in a remote part of the country and there has never been a bridge connecting the island to the mainland.

Every day a tractor and wagon gives hay rides around the island. Puzzled as to how the tractor had gotten onto the island, you ask around and find out that the tractor was not transported to the island by boat or by air. Nor was it built on the island.

Explain how the tractor got there?

Did you smuggle it in, piece by piece? ;)  :D

More to the point, how did you get there? ;)

What happened was that they drained the lake, drove the tractor to the higher land and then allowed the water to flood back again.

Perhaps the Lake is actually a reservior...?

It drove there along a causeway, or it has balloon tyres and floated over there inder its own power.

A river was damed which formed a resevoir trapping the tractor on the highest point of land.

It's a tractor, and maybe a shallow lake? tractors surely can drive through say two feet of water easily cant they?

How does the tractor gets its fuel?

Well, if it didn't come by boat or air, it must have been driven.

So either it drove across the lake bed when the lake was not there (i.e. a reservoir) or there is a tunnel under the lake.

But I suspect some lateral thinking is required, e.g. there is an unusual definition of tractor, or it is a battery powered model tractor and came over in somebodies pocket.

I think we need more details here, i.e average depth of water of the lake, distance between each shore, make of tractor, any special features of the tractor.

also is the lake man made or natural
