I've had a butchers (it's firewalled at work as an 'entertainment' site... never stop laughing sometimes, it keeps us sane) and there is mention of 'nominating the world's biggest car bore' with reference to knowing someone who tries to pull the girlies by quoting part numbers from a 1984 Maestro parts catalogue... roughly paraphrased...
Not very positive publicity, I know. The cars CAN, and WILL get better publicity very soon...
The other other Rich.

I have a 1984 Maestro! I am not a bore! Also I have a microfiche that covers all parts for the Maestro but unfortunately it only covers Mark2 cars from 1986 to 1994 (oops perhaps that is boring!):banghead:
But seriously - it is easy for Top Gear to make fun at our cars but it is a hollow laugh - our talent lies in the enjoyment and appreciation that we derive from driving the last British designed, owned and mass-manufactured car ... until MG Rover build something that is not based on a Honda (25,45,ZR,ZS) or a BMW (75,ZT) or a Tata or Magnusta. Not that Clarkson would appreciate that!
