Hi all, I just wanted to drop by to say hello and to let you all know that now there is a club being formed dedicated to the metro and 100.
The club has been formed in response to an article published in Classic Car Weekly on 30th August 2007.
If you would like to find out more, please feel free to e-mail me, (see signiture) or read page 4 of CCW tommorrow, as we have a piece in there.
I hope that this site and the new club can become great companions and I am looking forward to reading and contributing on here a lot from now on.
Thanks for your time,
Ian.

Hi Ian, welcome.
Good luck in your venture. As I've said to Lee you have our full support as a committee and fellow Austin club ;)

If you require any tips regarding committee related activities just drop me a PM or an email - we've got lots of experience now with things like printers, t-shirts, stickers etc etc...
You should also make sure the club registers with the Austin Federation.
Also, if you want to gatecrash one of our events for one of your gatherings, then drop our events sec a PM/Email - we'd be happy to be involved.
Dave.

Thank you to all for your warm welcome and words of encouragement, they are truly appreciated. I have read the advice offered and having thought about it, would be greatful for any help that you are prepared to offer. First thisn being: How to contact the Federation, secondly: attending an event with you and thirdly: making as many frienships here as possible.
Once again, Thank you for your support and the now club would be proud to be considored your little brother.
Regards,
Ian.

Ian,
Perhaps we could exchange links between websites?
I am currently building mine up and would be happy to advertise for you.

Good luck. Not wanting to p*ss on your fire but there was a Metro Owners Club advertised in the back of Practical Classics for some time. Maybe it's still listed: I'm at work so I cannot look. I'm not sure it ever had a website, but maybe check this out before you find out you've stepped on someone's toes, or even worse, infringed someone's copyright :)

Thanks for the advice, but we have tried to contact those people without luck. We have also onnounced our existence in todays issue of Classic Car Weekly, who have kindly supported us. The article about us is on Page 4 and we are reffered to in an article on page 51.
Linking to as many sites as possible is an advantage to all parties, so I would be honnoured if anybody wanted to link our site when it is up and running properly, but untill then, we are at home on Lee's forum, www.minimetro.org.
Thanks again for your help and encouragement, I know that all of the members yet to join and those that have allready will appreciate it.
Regards,
Metroclub.

For the Federation of Austin Clubs (organisers of the 2005 Austin Centenary celebrations) email AustinFederation@aol.com - on the committee is one Revd. Colin Corke who's keen enthusiasm for anything to do with Allegros, Metros (he used to sell them) and Longbridge in general pretty much guarantees you'll find bucketloads of support there and from the other member clubs.
If you send me a press release or just something about what your plans are I'll try and get something into the news pages of the next Monstro.

Thanks again, that is very helpfull and the formation of a club for Metro's is as a direct responce to MR Corke's article in Classic Car Weekly.
I have tried to set up another forum for the club and a link for it is http://austinrovermetroownersclub.freeforums.org/ should anybody want to come allong and post a few bits of chat in order that it may look busy to browsers on the net. It is not set up to compete with Lee, but rather to compliment the Forum that he has built so well.
Kind Regards,
Ian.

Hi Ian,
I have recently set up the Rover 200 & 400 Owners Club (June - www.rover200.org.uk) and used to be Chairperson/Membership Secretary for the Maestro/Montego Owners club. If you would like any advice then just ask.
I would avoid setting up forums on free hosting as unfortunately you don't own the IPR so any really good technical posts will be lost. If you have the domain name and the web-hosting to go then I will happily install a phpbb forum for yourselves one evening.
Lindsey.
PS:- I went and bought CCW specially so I could read the article ;)

Thank you for your advice, I will definately be taking you up on it and your offer of help, though I do like the look of what I have done and would like to keep it the same.
I don't know how I did it and could definately not do it again, but I know that the background and forum styles were called Vista.
Thanks for Buying CCW and for your support. I look forward to speaking with you. In the mean-time, if you know a red 213s from a D reg or about then for sale, please let me know.
Regards,
Ian.
