Maestro sunroof lining

Hi all

I have just retrimmed the headlining in the Maestro VP but I have got stuck at the sunroof lining stage.

It has the steel sunroof panel with the fabric lining which I have somehow managed to remove and recover, but I don't seem to be able to get it back into the car properly without forcing it into its position (and damaging it in the process).

I'm not sure what the correct procedure is for removing and refitting the sunroof lining, does anyone know?

Hi Ed - yeah, I did this about three years ago on two Maestros.

My memory is a little hazy but I remember that getting it in and out involved being fairly brutal because as far as I remember there are two clips at one end which have to be forced onto part of the sunroof assembly.

I seem to remember that I taped a plastic bag over the new cloth to prevent it from getting marks on it from the sunroof assembly. It's fairly easy to remove this when it's in place.

Good luck - I think you may be worrying about nothing because it wasn't a problem on the two that I did.
