Hi everyone,
One of your newer members here, living in South-East London and the proud owner (since January) of a red (don't ask which one, not a clue) Maestro 1.3 Clubman petrol saloon, J reg 1992.
Although I'm 30, this is the first car I've owned, and I've already used the forums here to sort out - successfully! - a problem I had with the headlights and main beams not coming on, tracked down to a lead detached from its solder tag on the light switch stalk on the steering column, and rectified by yours truly with a gas soldering iron. Thanks to the person who posted the suggestion, sorry I don't recall the name...
So, I've already found the site invaluable, and will share my experiences as time progresses, assist others with queries if and when I understand the questions, and probably ask a few of my own! Have a short list of problems that I'd like to resolve but this isn't the time.
Really enjoying driving the car, nice to own something that is now infrequently seen on the roads. I think the car is structurally sound (well, I did 1k miles in it over the last 2 weeks!) but the bodywork will need some TLC; I can almost put my hands through the holes in two of the doors(!).
