Hi, some of you may know me from various other tin-based sites, Austin-Rover, Triple-M, Brit-Cars, and MacDroitwich (my own board). I've been given an immaculate Austin Montego Vanden Plas Efi Auto, she's white over tempest grey, and has a grey leather interior to match. She's got about 50k on the clock, and all she needs to make her perfect is a new rear N/S quarterlight, and a new headlining (gone). Otherwise, she feels brand new.

This is her outside an ex-BL/Austin Rover/Rover Group dealership.

I hope you all like her;)

Wow - congratulations that's a superb car!

Welcome to the realms of Maestro / Montego ownership, too. I'm sure you'll enjoy the experience and soon find out that these cars are seriously under-rated marvels....

Watch the rust though because those late white cars need careful rust-proofing and attention to prevent them from dissolving in the rain. I had a Maestro in exactly the same colours / trim as your Montego and once it started to rust, there was no stopping it. Thankfully you've got there in time and can hopefully prevent the rot.

Happy motoring!

She's currently in the care of Lord Sward, as I'd rather she was in use than just sat outside my house.

I believe the rustproofing is all in order. I'm very impressed with her, and the interior is gorgeous.

As I said on the other site, very nice :)

Looks like it has a bit of surface rust creeping through on the top of the O/S/F wing under the bonnet, get that sorted before it becomes a problem.
