Hi all,

I know that quite a few of the members of the forum are down in the portsmouth area (i'm saying nothing, i'm a southampton lad!), but I keep seeing an advert in the local Adtrader for a man who has "montego and maestro spares, too many to list, please call for details", and I was wondering if anyone from down there had investigated into this further??

Ricky.

Not to my knowledge. Give him a bell and see what he has :)

I'm at uni down here, have seen the ad aswell but have never investigated as I always go home to Oxford if I have any work to do on the car so use my local scrappies which aren't too bad for Meastro stuff. Next time I need some spares maybe I'll check it out as I don't think he's too far at all.

Is there anything in particular, Liam, as I have uncovered loads of bits in my garage after a cleanout. Mainly front body panels and interior bits.:)

When I'm down here in portsmouth I don't have the space, tools or time to work on the maesty unless its something absolutly necessary that needs doing. In the summer its a different story, I'm constantly doing stuff to the maestro when at home, any little job will get done. There isn't anything in particular that I'm after right now but I will be on the hunt for a decent headlining come summer. Which scrap yards do you use Alan? I've been to the one in Bicester but prefur haynes of challow in wantage, had loads of stuff from there. I've been to the one in Oakley a couple of times, they had two MGs in there for ages so I had the tailgate spoiler off one of em.

Cheers,

Liam.

Liam,

It took me about a month to work that one out and I'm an IT admin!

Just look to the bottom of the post you want to quote and click on 'reply with quote'

Yeah, the Oakley yard is a good one. The one in Bicester (LC Hughes I assume?) is okay, but the bits are pricey. I often go to Smiths of Bloxham outside Banbury because their yard is huge with lots of choice. (Its where I got the Webers et al for the original engine on t'van) I wouldn't go there at this time of year though, what with the weather we have been having. Know what I mean?;)
