Driving the car to work yesterday, after 3 miles I experienced a severe stuttering from the engine when under acceleration. I pulled over to check for any loose connections and all seemed in order. So started the car again, drove off with the same problem for another couple of miles, where upon the car seemed to cure itself and normal service resumed.
There was no problem with idling during this period and when not accelerating the car was smooth. There was quarter of a tank of petrol in the car.
I have no idea what this could be or how the car managed to fix itself. But the whole car was very juddery. I’ve since driven another 80 miles without incident.
