A good day's racing! Thankfully the 2 MGOC races were pretty much incident-free, and were without the red flags and safety cars that most of the races before them seemed to have! Both races were clean and hard-fought for the win. Entertainment was best provided by Paul Naish, who had all FOUR brakes on his F catch fire in qualifying, and even after a lunchtime rebuild they weren't right, resulting in a big off at Gerrards - he managed to get back on track and continue, but the brakes still seemed to be jammed on and sadly he had to retire.

Some pics are here. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/maisiehexagon/sets/72157600083930070/)

You left 5 minutes too early, Maria... If you'd stayed you would have been showered in stones after one of the Minis lost it just before Gerrards and crossed the kitty litter spinning wildly.

Rich's Montego was in the middle of the ensuing cloud of dust and stones as he drove round the access road. Oops...

Good pics, as ever :thumbup: .

_()**)@$(& Crashblobs!! (Minis).

Saw this on another forum, posted by one of the Mallory marshals:

"It was a bit like being at the Grand National at the hairpin with a mini clearing the armco and the catch fencing."

We missed that one... D'oh!

"Our" (black) Mini lost its front bumper yet regained the race from the far side of the gravel trap at Gerrards looking rather sorry for itself but still up to speed on the next lap.

'Twas a good day's racing. Watching the Europa get lifted out of the gravel trap was a bit of a gut-wrench though. Any ideas what that V8-engined car that stated from the rear in the same race was? It sounded soulful :o as it went past!

And the 'sunburn' was OK the next day :laugh: .

A few months back I was looking at the race fixtures for this season and croft was not on the list. Any reason for this as last year was a good day; I was looking forward to coming again.

Now you see him................................. Now you don't!

Those two pictures were taken within about two seconds of each other. New section added to gallery.

Unfortunately the championship just couldn't get the dates at Croft. Hopefully we'll be back next year though.
