Heating?

my wifes H reg automatic maestro has no problem heating up, but for some reason hot air will only come out of the "feet" area. Any ideas on how to rectify this problem, is the problem tackled in the Haynes manual?

The heater is designed such that hot air is only available from the 'feet area' and the vents under the windscreen - the vents across the centre of the dash are cold air only. Close these vents at this time of year, untill you want a bit of cool fresh air.
