Had to replace the rear wheel bearings on the camper; the only thing it failed the MOT on!

...isn't it quiet now!

Noticed a weep on the rear wheel slave cylinders. I see there is one on Ebay; are they handed?

not sure if there handed or not , but i would want to change both of them at the same time, if one is weeping , then the one on the other side must be due too.

definately!

It was just that there was a single one on Ebay. If I bought it, would I needed just another one, or the one for the oposite side.....

The answer is yes and no. They are handed but they can be swapped over in minutes from one side to the other. Its just the pistons and bleed nipple that need swapping over. I have a feeling I need a wheel bearing or 3 in my camper too.

When the rear wheel bearings wore out on my Maestro Van they just became noisy - I couldn't find any excessive play in the roadwheel, and the bearings looked OK to me, but the noise disappeared when I replaced them.

Another thing to watch out for is the piston sizes are different in the car and the van as I found out recently when I bought one from the local accessory shop, but he still had both in stock. As the rear wheel cylinders only cost £10 each from a retail shop I wouldn't think it is worth looking on ebay for them, particularly as I saw one advertised for a Maestro, which doesn't say which Maestro it fits. I have bought a few bits on ebay from auto shops, both a wheel bearing and shock absorbers turned out to be not for my vehicle when it was advertised as so. They did swap them straightaway for the right ones, I went to collect the shockers so there was no postage there and only about £1 return postage on the wheel bearing so it wasn't a problem.
But I don't think I would take the trouble to buy wheel cylinders on ebay when the correct ones are still available cheaply from the local accessory shop.
