I had a small fire on Friday in the engine bay. A length of the wiring burned through its insulation and I had to be towed home.
Does anyone have a scrap underbonnet loom fot a 2 litre TD?

If you can't find a loom then it is simple enough to make one up. There aren't exactly many wires on the TD engine. 4 or 5 I think.

Hmm. Okay there aren't that many wires, but i can't say i feel terribly confident.
The cause was the alarm, fitted by crudely cutting into the loom which over time allowed the insulation to weaken, a short to Earth, loss of leccy to ignition circuit and overheating wires. I didn't know it had an alarm. I knew it had omething that looked like an alarm, but I've never used it, i don't even have a control for an alarm.
I'm not fixing this myself to be honest, wiring is hard!
Is the website really closing?

No the closing comment was an april fools day prank :D

Which wires have melted? The basic loom consists of an alternator feed (usually 2 thick brown wires) which runs to the starter motor terminal I think.
There is also a 3 wires that run to the pump area (1 for the idle advance, 1 for the cold start advance and 1 for the stop solonoid). There is also a thick wire for the glow plugs. There are 3 wires for the two temperature transmitters, and another for the oil pressure switch but I think that they come from the bulkhead end rather than the engine loom. I think that is about all the wiring.
If you don't want to fix it yourself you could get a loom from a scrap car and fit it yourself or even get an auto electrician to fix your existing one.

Which part of the loom are you after, if it is the main loom from the plugs that connect to the engine loom I have one available.

To clarify that is everything under the bonnent except the actual bit attached to the engine.
