Here they are... the long awaited video's from my 1/4 mile runs this year. Thanks to Mat_C for providing the server space to host them (Lycos don't like me anymore)

right click on the video, save target as, and wait... big files so you'll need broadband at the very least to get them sometime this year.. Enjoy!

I'm impressed! Left that sierra cossie for dead on the first few seconds, did it get past you near the finishing line? Why bother racing a :shoot: Nissan Micra though:confused: I'm on a 56K modem and it took about 30mins each to download two files!
Any further engine mods to improve your time any more next year then? How would your Montego fare on the dragstrip?

The Sierra Cossie was a 2WD 280bhp spec version, fully stripped out, but poor tyres (just like me!) he had a very poor reaction time which was why i pulled away from him, he couldnt claw back any gap. He eventually did post a better time, was about 14.7 IIRC, should have been alot quicker IMO.

As for the Micra, i swear it was a 1.2 Clio Oasis... Reason i raced it? I was queued up with a brand new Ford Focus RS, at the last minute he chickend out and let the car behind him go in front... Bascially, he didnt want to be shown up, which i would have done, as he did a 15.7 run after my 14.6 run :) I would have prefered to have that one on video but oh well, respect was enough...

My engine mods are very mild at the moment. I have the usual exhaust and modified air filter set up, and boost raised from 10 to 14psi, with extra fuelling of course. I also have a full width front mount intercooler (fitted after the original 14.6 run) I'm due to change the head gasket over the winter, as its the original one, having done 126k, so won't be at it's best for higher boost (having seen the condition on the Monty's gasket it's definatly going to be past its best) With the head off, i'll be doing some minor port work and tidying and also some mods to the inlet manifold.

I should be getting hold of a chargecooler to compliment my intercooler, with this, i'll be able to run higher boost of 17-18psi quite safely, with extra fuelling. I'm hoping that these mods with some decent tyres will see me hit a few 13.8-13.9's next year with ease.

My very long term plan is to build an expensive bullet-proof bottom end capable of taking up to 25psi with a hybrid turbo, together with a more sophisticated means of getting extra fuel in whilst retaining the SU carb set up. Could be a 12 second car one day ;)

As for the Montego? I thought about taking it up the strip for a laugh, it show's quite a few boyracer's up on the road, could do a 17.5-18 second 1/4 !!
