Can anyone post up a picture of how this seal fits on the engine ? Are they still available anywhere - or does anyone have a spare one from an old engine that they could let me have ?

Its been a while since I fitted one but It was just a standard rubber seal which was tapped into place with a suitable drift I think.

Having done both crank seals on my Metro, I'd say the same, a standard oil seal. They come up on eBay occasionally, a good motor factor's should get them too.
Being rubber, the newer the better I imagine. I sometimes wonder whether some "New Old Stock" seals on eBay may be a bit too old and hardened. (I was told at the time, a couple of years ago, that "the black ones are better than the orange ones". Unfortunately I'd already put an orange one on the back end, which is behind the flywheel/clutch on the Metro, and yes, it's leaking again... Whether that's cos it's an orange one, was a too-old NOS item, or I'd not been careful enough fitting it, I don't know!)

Not the Metro seal - which is same as a Mini. It's the Maestro rear crank seal I am after - a very different beast. Just a picture of the rear end of a Maestro A series engine would be good for now !
