View Full Version : PARTS OFFER - UPDATE

Most of you will probably remember me posting a topic a while back asking who would be interested in a set of panels at a discount from Rover. After allowing sufficient time for those not lucky enough to be internet-enabled to respond to the advert in the club mag, I can confirm that we definitely have enough interest to go ahead.

While I still don't have a rough figure on how much a panel set would be, I can tell you that the offer can be extended to other panels than the original doors/bonnet/tailgate set.

The proposal is that we make a bulk order for as many panels as people want. The offer still hinges on panel sets, but I have been advised by my contact who is sorting this out with his local Rover dealer that other panels will work out considerably cheaper through this offer. As an example, the panel which forms the "pocket" that the fuel filler neck fits through would normally retail for around £15. As part of a bulk order, we could get it for as low as a couple of quid.

The offer includes any panels as these are usually not model-specific (the exception being tailgates and front valance for some models like the turbos), lights units and also headlinings.

I need a revised list of who would be interested ASAP. This will not yet be a full committment, but obviously if you can put your name and order down as definite, this will make negotiations much easier.

I believe this is an offer that is well worth taking up, so PM/email/ring/write to me with your requirements as soon as possible!

Front valance on the Turbo is no different to any other Maestro BTW.(Unless your calling a bumper a valance)

Could I get specific panels on their own? I could do with a bonnet as the framework around the front has rusted on the original.
Also, do they do leaf springs for vans? Or would I just go to Ledbury?

You can indeed just get a bonnet.

We're limiting this ro body panels and things which are universal across the range. For mechanical bits you'd be better off going to Ledbury.

Yes I'm definitely interested specifically:

all 4 doors ideally or would consider just the offside front and rear; fuel filler neck backing panel thingy; plastic bumpers front and rear; tailgate; possibly both front wings (plastic bumper type c/w indicator holes). That neatly cuts out virtually all the corrosion on my car!

Maria,

do you have any idea what the arrangements would be for us taking delivery of the items? would they send the items out to local rover dealers??

Im interested in certain items, including a headlining, which would be a pain to transport any distance.

Thanks
Andy

I think items would go to a centrally located dealer, but I would imagine they could be transported to a suitable location.

That's handy! My local motor factor used to be a Rover parts dealer. (They still have the original Microfiches)
How will this be implemented?
