Has anyone had any joy tracking down an aftermarket stainless system for their MG Turbo? Also could anyone let me know if the cars were fitted with horrible catylitic converters as standard?
Cheers

Lots of people will build an exhaust for you. I believe Maria knows of someone good that she used for her cars. As for cats, you are safe, no cats are required for this age of car.

I have a Powerflow custom system on my 2.0 Diesel engine, and I believe Gareth also has a Powerflow system on his Turbo. I got mine from TopGear who are very good. They may have a branch near you - check http://www.topgear.co.uk/

Yep, here's mine... Only problem is the rear hanger support has broken off so needs re-welding, but this will be done FOC.

The chap that did my tyres last weekend told me that they had to change the laws on emissions in order to get Metros and Maestros through the MoT! Not sure if he was telling the truth, but it is believable - he was impressed with A82's condition and running so he is clearly a man of strong character and integrity.

I honestly thought no one buys them tail pipes from halfords, obviously I was wrong, and you cant buy an off the shelf system for the turbo, because NO ONE makes one for it.

Try Double S www.stainlesssteelexhausts.co.uk/ - I fitted one to my Rover 12 years ago - they have a no-quibble lifetime guarantee. That's the lifetime of the car OR the owner whichever comes first!
When the flange came off my rear pipe last year (painful), I e-mailed a photo and two weeks later got a new section delivered free of charge.
Depends how long you plan to keep the car, but these are heavy gauge stainless exhausts. They make to order as well.
