today, i accidently sheared one of my studs off on my front offside wheel hub, therefore i only have 3 nuts holding my wheel on. (its a maestro Turbo Diesel btw)

i need to used the car for the rest of the week until i have time to do it on the weekend, so how desperate or potentially dangerous is it at its current state. obviously i will fit it in asap but your thoughts please?

and please tell me some others of you have done this because ive never seen it done before! :o

and the question on everybodys lips is, does steve smith's maestro and montego salvage yard have any hubs in stock at current :fim:

cheers in advance

Ben

You'll be fine until you find another hub/drive flange assembly.

I agree you should be fine. I had one go on my MG Midget and drove gingerly until I got a new stud.

Ben, no need to waste time and money on a hub/flange assembly, just drift out the broken bit and drift in a new stud.

or come hither and remove these montego hubs outside my house, i dont have a socket bit big enough! you can do what you like with them then, drift out one of the prongy bits or just swop the hub over, up to you! and then there's nothing stopping me taking off the driveshafts..... (indert evil laugh here!)
