I need a new drivers seat and was wondering which models of Maestro used the same pattern on the seats as my car. I've been looking for a while but cant seem to find any other cars in the scrapyard with the same interior trim.
Can anyone tell me which cars to look out for - or if they know of somewhere i could get one.
Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that's the same pattern as our K-Reg Clubman. Did your Clubman have the same pattern? I guess the problem is finding one in good nick.
Hope this helps,
Peter

My clubman had MG seats - so i wouldnt know if they do have the same. As you said - finding one in good condition - as those in scrapyards are usually knackered....

ive got a similar problem with my LX at the moment, the drivers seat is starting to look quite tired. When ive seen LX models in scrapyards the drivers seat is usually as bad but the passenger ones are usually ok. I know I could put a pasenger seat in place of the drivers seat but the winder would be on the wrong side, its probably been asked before but can you some how turn a passenger seat into a drivers one by taking it to bits and reversing the side the backrest winder fits on??

That's the LCG scheme as fitted to my maestro before the VDP trim went in. It was also used in the 'Nightfire' edition of Metros at least(from what I remember, K reg onwards?). A passenger seat should be fine for replacement as I'm sure you can swap the runners straight forwardly enough. I might check the late diesel estates for good front seats in the scrappers then. I've sold mine.

If you were feeling particularly cheap, and if it is possible to change a driver's seat into a passenger seat, you could always swap the two seats in your car to even out the wear :)

Yes, all the Maestro and Montego seats are interchangeable.
It is also possible to convert the wheel from one side to the other, but why bother. It's not a problem having it on the wrong side.
It is a pain when there are so many different patterns of seats. Some are more comfortable than other too.
If you are really desperate to get the pattern shown, I may have one. I'll have to check. But whether it will be worth your while coming to East Lothian to get it is debatable.
Where are you?
Derek.

How come a Ledbury R-reg Maestro is needing a new drivers seat so soon? I'd have thought that even the worst seats could withstand about 80k of abuse, and I wouldn't have thought that a Ledbury Maestro has reached such a mileage yet.
No offence meant ... just genuinely curious

Yes, I know what you mean. GGT's drivers seat is like new, after 91,000 miles!

I dont know if i can get rid of it now - cos Vicki Butler - Henderson sat there. The plastic clip that holds the actual seat covering has come off and snapped so you catch your leg on it every time you get in the car.
