Hi, does anyone know how much a pair of brake discs are for the MG Maestro from the dealer or from anywhere I could get them cheaper, also the brake pads too as the wear light has come on this morning, I think I will have to get these from the dealer as they need the wear sensors in them and I know the Ferodo jobbies you get from Halfrauds dont come with them, ****e :censored: No point me changing the pads without the discs as well this time as the discs have big lips on the edges and will soon become dangerous as well as knacker the pads.
A bit of expense I didn't need
Never mind, joys of motoring and all that :)
Cheers

I would give PartCo a ring as I'm pretty sure that they'd have the parts and they'd almost certainly be less expensive.
I believe that your closest branch is:
Unit 2, Gateway, Crewe Gates Ind Estate, Crewe, 01270 250106
Cheers,
SR.

Cheers again for the info

I've never seen a worn out disc on a maestro yet, but I guess it could happen. The wear lip always looks worse than it is as the edge corrodes it swells making it look far worse. I'd run a file or wire brush around the edge of them to remove the rust and get a better look before condeming them. (but then I'm a cheap skate). You are lucky if the wear light has come on, as they rarely work and so are much less common on modern cars. Check out the discs and if they aren't down to the minimum thickness or badly scored then chances are they'll be ok to re-use.
Don't get me wrong brakes aren't an area you can skimp on, however none of the 6 maestros owned by my family have ever needed a disc in about 400,000 miles of motoring, but then we might be easy on the brakes I guess.

I remember when I got these parts I got them from Lucas and they were pretty cheap. Think they are called Lex Autocentres now but still have the parts store. Possibly. Worth a ring anyway. There have been some on ebay recently so check there as well.
