Wheel cylinders

New member here and Maestro virgin.
Car just failed MOT on rear cylinder - question - are both sides cylinders the same but with pistons 'handed'? i.e. Can the R/H cylinder have it's internals swapped over to make it a left hander or is there some other difference like differing bores? Am I right to think that van rear brakes are different to saloon (hatch) - I have a saloon. Where can I get parts local to Kettering, Northants. Thanks, Dean

first part - erm, possibly - but why on earth would you want to when wheel cyls are so cheaply available? any half-decent factor should have them or get them in for you, and there's usually a couple of sets on eBay if you can afford a few days wait.
Yes, van brakes are different I believe - along with the hubs, suspension components etc.
