Did anyone know that BMW's fist car was an Austin Eight built under licence.
MG Midget, B, C, F,T's etc can be said to not be in the true spirit of MG. Old Faithful (1st MG) was a badge enginered Morris (Bullnose I think) with modified engine and suspension. A bit like the MGM's.:p

All MG's can trace their ancestry back to Morris - it stands for 'Morris Garages' after all.....

Close, but not totally.... It was the Austin 7, build in license by the Dixi Car Company in Eisenach - and BMW bought this company later on. Until that date BMW did only build aero-engines, boat-engines and motor-bikes. The aero-engines are the historical start of BMW.
The Austin 7 was also build in France as Rosengart and other places.
And there was a Japanese Austin: Nissan did build Austin cars during the '50s.
Cheers,

Ah! I knew SOME company in Japan built them. And I know that the BMW logo represents the movement of an aircraft propeller!
